Explain Everything Advanced and Promethean ActivSuite™ Whiteboard have two new features to level up your classroom: Math Tools and Split Whiteboard. Whether you need assistance drawing straight lines, working with students on their parabolas, or creating fun head-to-head games, these new features are sure to keep your lessons ahead of the curve. 

Let’s line up what you can expect from both features:  

Math Tools

The Math Tools feature is so much more than tools for math classes: these interactive tools can help students learn how to draw basic shapes, measure, and create with precision. The Math Tools set includes:

After adding the tool from the toolbar, you can resize, rotate, and move the tool wherever you need it. For additional accuracy, the tool snaps to the nearest angle when Snap rotation is turned on. Once the tool is placed where you want it, you can use the Draw tool to draw precise lines. 

The tools have staying power, too! As you zoom in or out, the tools follow along with the canvas. They even persist as you move across slides, so there’s no need to keep adding a fresh ruler as you progress through your lesson. When you’re done, simply tap the “x” or refresh the project to remove the tool.

Split Whiteboard 

With Split Whiteboard, you can vertically split your whiteboard into two parts, each with their own set of tools. This allows for two people to use the whiteboard at the same time, creating ample opportunities for games, collaboration, and creativity on your Promethean ActivPanel. 

To activate Split Whiteboard mode, go to Workspace layouts and choose Split.

Each side has a simplified toolbar that includes the Pen, Highlighter, Eraser, Math Tools, and Clear drawings tools. Each side can customize their tools, including the color and sizing, as well as use the Clear drawings tool to erase all the drawings on their side. 

When you’re ready to go back to the full whiteboard, tap the Split mode icon in the bottom left and then tap Exit Split Drawing.
