Reinvigorate your class before winter break with Explain Everything

A student uses an ActivPanel to show her work on the new Explain Everything templates released for winter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year; holiday cheer is in the air, and your students daydream of winter break. But these weeks leading up to the holidays are still full of learning opportunities to help your students prepare for the New Year.

We’re here to help you reinvigorate your lessons and keep your students focused with the latest Explain Everything templates. We have six new whiteboard lessons designed to combine education with interactive fun.

Primary math: Identify numbers 1-20 — Perfect for young learners starting their counting journey, this lesson uses fun animals that students count. From giant pandas to adorable puppies, your students will be delighted and stay engaged.

Primary math: Identify numbers 1-100 — Are your students ready to test their counting knowledge? This template extends number recognition to 100, challenging them to identify numbers before and after the given number. There’s also a hundreds chart to support your lesson and help guide your students.

Secondary math: Equation sort — Engage older students with an interactive equation-sorting activity. Students solve the equation and then move the problem to the correct side of the mat, encouraging critical thinking and reinforcing problem-solving skills.

Secondary math: Histograms — This template makes data visualization approachable and exciting. With this lesson, students explore data representations and then make observations on the data set. Your class will deepen their understanding of distribution and how it relates to density estimation.

Secondary math: Function exploration — Bring functions to life with this dynamic template. Students explore the concept of a function by using an interactive “function machine” to input and complete the chart. This hands-on lesson will help make functions fun and engaging.

Secondary ELA: Diving deep into text — Get students thinking critically and improve their literacy with this template. Students interact with the text by starting with surface-level observations, diving deeper and deeper into comprehension as they interact with the assigned reading.

With these templates, you can re-energize your classroom and help students finish the year strong. Find all these templates by starting a New project, choosing Templates, and then clicking the Newest filter on the left.
