Julie Porter is an Education Consultant for Promethean, following 7 years in the classroom as a music, art, and theater teacher. She has been drawing since the age of 2, when she made a lovely crayon drawing of “Willie the Spider.” Julie has had some interesting freelance assignments along the way, from hand-lettered menus for Princes Charles when he visited The College of William & Mary, to a sculpted Globe Theater made out of cake, to detailed illustrations of animal poop for Rocky Mountain National Park’s Junior Ranger publications. Thinking up and composing the ProTips has allowed weekly exercises in drawing, lettering, and education–her three favorite things! Julie lives in Chula Vista, CA, with husband Bob, daughter Lilia, and a lot of pets.
