What’s new with the Promethean Web 4.1 release

Two IT admins work with the Promethean Web 4.1 Release

The latest Promethean Web 4.1 update expands on the already featured-packed release for Promethean 4.0. We’re bringing a mix of extended convenience and enhanced security features, making your workflow faster and smoother.

Here are a few updates you can expect:

Bulk Promethean ActivSuite™ redemptions

Admin Tools now allows you to upload a CSV file of up to 1,000 redemption codes in one go. Simply go to Applications, click on the Bulk tab, and download the CSV template. Once all the codes have been loaded into the template, you can navigate back to Admin Tools to upload and start assigning seats.

Longer sessions, less hassle

With this update, user sessions are extended from a maximum of 7 days to 30 days on all Promethean web and software products, including Promethean ActivSuite. With less time spent re-authenticating each week, your team can focus more on what matters.

More robust security enhancements

Longer sessions don’t mean we’ve cut corners on security. To safeguard user data, we’ve strengthened the protection of user data with the following measures:

  • Activity alerts: Automated email notifications will alert users about changes to their account password, lock PIN, and wallpaper, as well as notifications about new device sign-ins.
  • Session management: Under the “Devices” tab, users can view and revoke active sessions on their Promethean devices. Sessions end when their current refresh token expires, typically one hour for most devices.
  • Fresh start on password change: When users update their password, whether through the “Change” or “Forgot Password” flow, all current sessions will automatically end. Users will then be required to re-authenticate with the new password.
